Getting started with a hotel or guesthouse

From an empty account to your first checked-in guest, in the order that saves the most time.

Updated 26 September 2026

Guided setup walks you through everything below in one flow, with sensible defaults filled in. Most properties are ready in an afternoon.

1. Your property

Enter the name, address and city. Currency, time zone and VAT (7.5% by default) are filled in for Nigeria. Change them if your accountant tells you otherwise.

2. Choose Simple or Full

  • Simple suits small teams where one person does several jobs. Shift opening and closing is hidden, and staff are not stopped for manager approval as often.
  • Full switches on every control: shifts, manager PINs and separate kitchen screens.

Everything is recorded the same way in both, so you can switch later without losing anything. See Simple or Full setup.

3. Rooms and rates

Add your room types (for example Standard, Deluxe, Suite) with a nightly rate, then your rooms with their number, type and floor. You can add a weekend uplift and date ranges with a different rate, such as festive periods.

4. Bars and restaurants

If you have a bar, restaurant, lounge or pool bar, add each one as an outlet with its sections and tables, then add your menu. See Getting started with a restaurant or bar.

5. Your team

Invite staff by phone number or email and give each person their roles. See Add staff and choose their roles.

6. Bring your existing bookings

Import upcoming reservations and your guest list so the room board is right from the first day.

7. Connect payments

To send payment links to guests, complete payment setup. Money settles straight to your bank account. See How payments reach your bank account.

When you are done, open the room board and check in your first guest.
