Open and close a shift

Start with a float, finish by counting cash, and see the difference recorded.

Shifts are part of the Full setup. Under Simple, they are hidden.

Opening

Tap Open shift and enter the float, the cash in the drawer when you start. Every cash payment you take from now on is added to your shift.

Closing

  1. Tap Close shift.
  2. Innix shows the cash you should have: the float plus cash taken, minus any cash paid out.
  3. Count the drawer and enter what is actually there.

The difference is recorded against your name and locked. It cannot be changed afterwards.

Things to know

  • You can only have one shift open at a time.
  • A shift left open for more than twelve hours is flagged to managers.
  • Owners see each person’s cash difference in Reports and in the daily report.
