What happens when the internet goes down

What keeps working, what waits, and what happens when the connection comes back.

Updated 26 September 2026

The front desk and the bar keep working without internet. You do not need to do anything different.

How you know you are offline

The top of the screen shows Offline and a count of actions waiting to be sent. When the connection returns, the count goes down to zero on its own.

What keeps working

  • Checking guests in and out
  • Taking orders, sending tickets and settling bills
  • Charging bills to rooms
  • Recording cash, transfer and POS payments
  • Voids and discounts with a manager’s PIN

Innix is tested with eight hours offline and a hundred waiting actions, replayed without losing or doubling anything.

What waits for the connection

  • Payment links to guests, and card payments through Paystack
  • WhatsApp receipts and the daily report
  • Changes made on other devices, which appear once both are back online

When two devices disagree

  • Money never conflicts. Payments and charges are only ever added, so every one is kept.
  • Room status takes the latest change.
  • Two bookings for the same room and night made on different devices while offline: the second one is refused when it reaches the server, and a manager is shown both to decide.

Printing

If a kitchen ticket or receipt fails to print, the till always shows an error, so a ticket is never lost without anyone knowing.
